The Coronavirus lockdown in Gondia, Maharashtra has adversely affected thousands of street people and daily wagers. Since they don’t have a source to earn and support, as more and more parts of the world declare lockdown measures in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the damage to economies and livelihoods is rapidly escalating and giving rise to additional forms of distress during this healthcare crisis. The outbreak is widely being considered two epidemics a health crisis and a livelihood loss epidemic. Already amongst the most vulnerable in normal times, informal sector workers find themselves bearing the impact of this economic consequence. With physical distancing measures in place, their usual channels of income lie broken, many stranded in places away from their homes, without proper shelter and supplies, and often without the capacity and awareness to prevent exposure to infection.
- Through the Bamboo artisans, Daily wage labour our working area are more sufferer of this economic crises, and they have lots of issues of food, health care and earning.

Artisans, farmers are unable to sell their produce, given that many of the main markets have been shut down and main season has gone.
- Local middleman is taking advantage of the situation by hiking prices for hygiene products and other daily needs. This is a severe blow to Artisans who do not have any work.
Target People Coved;
We have supported more than 250 families’of1800 members approx.; they are Bamboo workers (Tribal & Rural) and daily wage labor.
Implementation Process;
- Identification of needy families and there listing, village and door to door visit to identified the actual needy families.
- Priority given to single hood, widow, physically challenged and landless.
- Consent taken from Gram Panchayat.
- Selection of village for distribution as per accessibility of nearest village population.
- Quotation taken from market before finalization of vendor.
- Approval from purchasing committees of ISWS.
- Distribution of kit in common place and door to door.
Outcomes;
- 67 (Artisans) of 15 villages, and there 1800 families received help them to get food security for one month.
- This Ration them to overcome from food insecurity and Mental Trauma.
- This Ration kit their confidence and they can start their work in search of livelihood.
- This Ration kit just a food security for the Artisan, for the togetherness.
- This will reduce the malnutrition in family and children.
- This will help to revive their work during this period without any fear about food.
- 67 Bamboo workers (Artisans) of 15 villages, and there 1800 families have d ‘Ration Kit, that will them to get food security for one month.
- This Ration Kit helps them to overcome from food insecurity and Mental Trauma. This Ration kit will build their confidence and they can start their work in search of livelihood. This Ration kit will not just a food security for the , farmers but a hope.
