Our Story

Working with Rural and Tribal Communities of Maharashtra towards Development

Indian Social Welfare Society (ISWS) is a Professionally Managed Non-Governmental Organization, started in the year of 1995 and registered under Society Registration Act (SRA) 1960 and Bombay Public Trust Act (BPA) 1950 in a response to address issues related to local governance. ISWS is a leading organization serving to communities since last 27 years in the sector of Education, health & Hygiene, livelihood and Nutrition with utmost respect in the state of Maharashtra. We committed for a developing Society where people relies on participation for good governance. Always strive to strengthen Community Level Institution like- Self-Help Groups, Federations and Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) and build their capacity to manage the program in a sustainable manner. It is a team of young and dynamic youths lead by the experienced Shri. Ashok ji Belekar (Founder of ISWS) who are determined to bring social change through the behaviour change of people and to change of prospect.

Objectives of the organization

  • To facilitate, promote and sponsor all activities for protecting and furthering the interest of disadvantaged groups- Women, Children and minorities (Socio-economical, racial & ethnic) both in rural and urban areas.
  • To focus on self-sufficiency in food production with ecological approach and with disaster resilient capacities.
  • Enabling deprived children, their families and their communities to meet their basic needs and to increase their ability to participate in and benefit from their societies.
  • Building relationships to increase understanding and unity among peoples of different cultures and countries.
  • To create Awareness about various health issues like- Tuberculosis, Leprosy in rural areas.
  • To facilitate platform for various individual & organizations (Govt. & Non-Govt.) towards batter achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
  • To develop link between governing body and rural area population by popularizing the schemes and actions of the government among the rural and tribal people.
